Soundoc Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Soundoc mobile application and related services ("Soundoc," the "App," "we," "our," or "us").
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, subscribing to, or using Soundoc, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use Soundoc.
2. About Soundoc
Soundoc is a document and text listening application designed to help users listen to supported documents, articles, PDFs, text, URLs, and other compatible content using text-to-speech and related reading tools.
Features may include playback controls, voice settings, reading preferences, document processing, text extraction, organization tools, and other listening or reading features.
3. Eligibility
You may use Soundoc only if you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
If you use Soundoc on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of that organization.
4. Your Content
Soundoc may allow you to import, paste, upload, enter, or otherwise provide documents, PDFs, URLs, articles, text, or other content ("User Content").
You retain any ownership rights you have in your User Content. Soundoc does not claim ownership of content merely because you process or listen to it through the App.
You grant Soundoc the limited rights necessary to process your User Content solely for purposes such as:
- extracting or displaying text;
- generating text-to-speech playback;
- organizing or processing documents;
- providing features you request; and
- operating and maintaining the App.
5. Rights to Imported Content
You are responsible for the content you choose to use with Soundoc.
You represent that you have the necessary rights, licenses, permissions, or other lawful basis to access and use content that you import into Soundoc.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Soundoc to:
- violate applicable laws or regulations;
- infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other rights belonging to another person or organization;
- access or process content that you are not legally permitted to use;
- attempt to interfere with, disrupt, damage, or compromise Soundoc or its systems;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract proprietary components of the App except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use automated systems to abuse, overload, or interfere with the service; or
- use Soundoc for fraudulent, harmful, or unlawful purposes.
7. Text-to-Speech and Generated Output
Soundoc uses software-based text processing and text-to-speech technology to present or read content.
Pronunciation, formatting, text extraction, document parsing, sentence boundaries, summaries, voices, timing, or other output may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate, or different from the original source.
You should verify important information against the original document or source when accuracy is important.
8. Subscriptions and Premium Features
Certain Soundoc features may require a paid subscription or other in-app purchase.
Prices, subscription periods, free trials, and available plans are displayed before purchase and may change for future purchases where permitted by applicable law.
Purchases made through Apple's App Store are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's applicable payment and subscription terms.
Unless otherwise stated by Apple or required by law, auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple account subscription settings.
Soundoc does not directly receive or store your full payment card information for purchases processed through the App Store.
9. Free Trials
Soundoc may offer eligible users a free trial of premium features.
Trial eligibility, duration, conversion to a paid subscription, and cancellation terms will be displayed through the App Store purchase interface before confirmation.
10. Third-Party Services
Soundoc may rely on third-party services, technologies, software libraries, operating-system functionality, payment processors, analytics providers, crash-reporting tools, or other service providers.
Your use of certain third-party services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Third-Party Websites and Content
Soundoc may allow users to provide URLs or access information originating from third-party websites or services.
Soundoc does not control or endorse third-party websites simply because their content may be accessed or processed through the App.
Third-party services are responsible for their own content, availability, terms, and privacy practices.
12. Intellectual Property
Soundoc, including its software, interface, branding, graphics, design, features, and other original components, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use Soundoc in accordance with these Terms, no ownership rights in the App are transferred to you.
13. Updates and Changes to Soundoc
We may update, improve, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features of Soundoc from time to time.
Some updates may be necessary for security, compatibility, reliability, or continued operation of the App.
14. Availability
We work to keep Soundoc available and functional, but we do not guarantee that every feature will be available at all times or on every device.
Availability may be affected by maintenance, device compatibility, internet connectivity, operating-system changes, third-party services, or circumstances outside our control.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Soundoc is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that Soundoc will always be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that text processing, extraction, pronunciation, playback, or other output will always be accurate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection laws.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Soundoc and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the App.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.
17. Termination
You may stop using Soundoc at any time.
We may restrict or terminate access to Soundoc where reasonably necessary to address unlawful activity, abuse, security threats, violations of these Terms, or circumstances requiring the discontinuation of a service.
Termination of access to Soundoc does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions should be managed through your Apple account where applicable.
18. Privacy
Your use of Soundoc is also subject to the Soundoc Privacy Policy.
Please review the Privacy Policy for information about how information may be processed when you use Soundoc.
19. Apple App Store
If you obtain Soundoc through Apple's App Store, your use of the application is also subject to applicable Apple terms, conditions, and usage rules.
Where applicable, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a valid custom license agreement has been provided.
Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Soundoc except to the extent required under applicable Apple terms or law.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Soundoc, applicable laws, business practices, or available features.
Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
Your continued use of Soundoc after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by applicable law.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.
22. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Soundoc Privacy Policy and any applicable App Store terms, constitute the agreement governing your use of Soundoc, except where additional terms are expressly presented for a particular feature or service.
