WordWiz Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

WordWiz is a vocabulary-learning and study application. This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the WordWiz mobile application and related services.

By using WordWiz, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create or use a WordWiz account, we may collect information such as:

• Email address
• Username or display name
• Internal account identifier
• Authentication and account-status information

Passwords are handled through our authentication provider. WordWiz does not store your plain-text password.

App content and learning data

We may store information you create or save while using WordWiz, including:

• Saved words and vocabulary entries
• Definitions, notes, examples, and study materials
• Flashcards or study sets
• Learning progress and completion information
• Streaks, scores, statistics, or other progress indicators
• App settings and preferences

Community Photos

If you choose to upload or share a photo through WordWiz's Community features, WordWiz may collect and store the photo you select, along with information associated with the post, such as your display name, caption, and the date or time the content was posted.

Photos that you intentionally post to the Community are shared with other WordWiz users and should be treated as public or community-visible content. Please avoid uploading photos that contain sensitive personal information that you do not want others to see.

WordWiz only accesses photos from your device when you choose to select or upload a photo and grant the applicable device permission. WordWiz does not access your photo library for advertising or tracking purposes.

Community photos may be stored using WordWiz's service providers, including Supabase, so that the content can be displayed and maintained within the Community feature. You may remove content you posted where deletion controls are available in the app, or contact us using the information below for assistance with a deletion request.

Diagnostic and technical information

WordWiz may collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the app, such as:

• Crash reports and error messages
• App version and operating-system version
• Device type and general technical characteristics
• Time and location within the app where an error occurred
• Performance and reliability information
• Technical identifiers associated with an error event

Subscription and purchase information

WordWiz offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store. To provide subscription access, restore purchases, and determine whether WordWiz Plus features should be available, WordWiz and its subscription service provider may process limited purchase information, including:

• The subscription product you purchased
• Purchase and subscription status
• Renewal, expiration, and entitlement status
• Transaction, receipt, or purchase-history information needed to validate and restore purchases
• An app user identifier or similar identifier used to associate subscription access with your WordWiz account

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. WordWiz does not receive or store your full credit-card number, debit-card number, bank account information, or other complete payment-card details.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate, and maintain your account
• Save and synchronize your vocabulary and study data
• Provide flashcards, learning tools, and progress features
• Remember your preferences
• Prevent abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access
• Diagnose crashes and technical problems
• Improve app reliability, performance, and usability
• Respond to support, privacy, or account requests
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Terms of Use

WordWiz offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's App Store, including WordWiz Plus Monthly, which renews every 1 month, and WordWiz Plus Annual, which renews every 1 year. Subscription prices are displayed in the app and in Apple's purchase confirmation and may vary by country or region.

Subscription purchases and billing are processed by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. You can manage or cancel an active subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. WordWiz also provides a Restore Purchases option so eligible App Store purchases can be restored.

WordWiz uses Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). You can review it here: Apple Standard Terms of Use (EULA) .

Apple's handling of payment information and App Store transactions is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and applicable terms.

5. Service Providers

WordWiz uses third-party service providers that process information on our behalf to provide app functionality.

Supabase

WordWiz uses Supabase for services that may include authentication, database storage, file storage, and related backend infrastructure. Information stored through WordWiz may therefore be processed by Supabase.

Supabase processes information according to its own privacy and security practices.

Sentry

WordWiz uses Sentry for crash reporting, error monitoring, and app diagnostics. Sentry may receive technical information associated with crashes and errors, such as app version, operating-system information, device characteristics, stack traces, error context, and identifiers associated with an error event.

WordWiz configures Sentry for application reliability and diagnostics. We do not use Sentry for advertising or cross-app tracking.

RevenueCat

WordWiz uses RevenueCat to help validate App Store purchases, manage subscription entitlements, restore purchases, and determine subscription status. RevenueCat may process limited purchase and subscription information such as an app user identifier, product identifiers, purchase history, transaction or receipt information, subscription status, and entitlement status.

RevenueCat processes this information on WordWiz's behalf for subscription functionality and related service analytics. WordWiz does not use RevenueCat for third-party behavioral advertising. RevenueCat's privacy information is available at RevenueCat Privacy Policy .

Apple

When WordWiz is downloaded or used through Apple services, Apple may process information under Apple's own privacy policy and platform terms. Apple also processes payments for WordWiz subscriptions purchased through the App Store. WordWiz does not receive your complete payment-card or banking details from Apple.

These providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

6. When Information May Be Shared

We may share information only in limited circumstances:

• With service providers that help operate, secure, host, or maintain WordWiz
• When required by law, legal process, regulation, or valid government request
• To protect the rights, safety, integrity, and security of WordWiz, its users, or others
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the app or its assets
• With your direction or consent

We do not sell personal information or share personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and learning information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide WordWiz, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service.

Diagnostic information may be retained for a limited period needed to identify and resolve technical problems.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify associated information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for security, fraud prevention, backups, legal compliance, or other legitimate obligations.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no internet transmission, mobile application, database, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

9. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request access to personal information associated with you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a portable copy of certain information
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You may also stop future app data collection by deleting WordWiz from your device. Deleting the app does not automatically delete an existing account or information stored in WordWiz's backend.

To request account or data deletion, use the account-deletion option available within WordWiz, where provided, or contact us using the email address below.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain privacy requests.

10. Children's Privacy

WordWiz is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through WordWiz, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. International Users

WordWiz and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your location.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when WordWiz's features, service providers, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice within the app or through another appropriate method.
